LIEUTENANT COLONEL ANDREW T. BEATTIE
Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Beattie serves as the Chief of Staff, Michigan Wing, Civil Air Patrol. In this role, he leads a dedicated team of nine directors and 19 staff members supporting over 1,400 auxiliary airmen across the Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, and Cadet Programs mission areas. These directorates oversee seven groups and 42 geographically separated units throughout the state.
Lt Col. Beattie began his Civil Air Patrol service as a cadet in 2003 and transitioned to senior member status in 2007, where he played a foundational role in establishing the Rochester-Oakland Composite Squadron. In 2013, he joined the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller, serving his entire military career within Air Force Special Operations. His CAP leadership experience includes service as a squadron commander, group commander, national director, and a wide array of staff positions at multiple echelons of command.
In addition to his Civil Air Patrol duties, Lt Col. Beattie currently works as an Air Traffic Controller at Michigan’s third busiest airport. He is also the founder of AzimuthX, a leadership and management consulting firm dedicated to developing high-performing individuals and organizations.
