Training Sorties

Michigan Provides its members with a variety of opportunities and resources to develop and maintain operations and emergency services skills. MIWG organized wing-wide Search And Rescue Exercises (SAREXs) on a quarterly basis along with various Wing level events such as SAR Academy, Operation Wolverine, and Operation Northern Strike.

Wing level emergency services activities have the primary purpose of providing members the opportunity to practice and hone their skills in the environment they will be used during an actual event. While there opportunities to develop skills as Wing events, most members begin their initial training at the unit level.

Michigan Wing supports unit level training by offering funding for both air and ground practice sorties.

Units wishing to utilize these practice sorties can request approval through the MIWG Emergency Services Officer by using the links found at the right.
